Jenks River Walk

We are only two days away from race day and we couldn't be more excited to be hosting an in person event!
We were beginning to wonder if racing in person was a real thing or just a Myth?

Let’s go over some pre-race and race day information:

Packet pickup will be available at RunnersWorld Tulsa, 3920 S. Peoria, on Saturday, April 24th
from 10:00AM- 6:00PM. Walk in registration is also available at this time and location.
Race day location and packet pickup: Race day packet pickup and registration will be available at the start area located at the Jenks Riverwalk starting at 6AM and until the races start. 1100 Riverwalk Terrace, Jenks, Ok.
The start is on the Jenks River trail behind the Creek Nation business building north of the Flying Tee. There is ample parking but beware you are next to a driving range and we have noticed some loose flying balls coming into the parking lot.

Race Start times:
The full and half marathons will start at 7AM.
All Ainsleys Angels and strollers for the 5K will start at 7:10.
5K race will start at 7:15AM.

Race course: For the full and half marathon racers your course is basically a skewed Y shaped course with two different out and backs with a turnaround at 111th and Elm and before 71st and Riverside East side before you return to the start finish area. Your course will be marked with directional arrows and signs. There will be police at critical road crossings and volunteers to help show you the way. It is very important that you pay attention to the arrows to make sure that you don't miss a turn or a turn around. We have seen a few times that runners just simply have not paid attention to the course markings or volunteers screaming at them to turn or turn around and have gone off course and gotten "bonus miles" and we don't want that to happen to you! Let's face it, sometimes we just get into our own heads and get "race brain" or we are listening to music on our headphones and just kind of check out. Pay attention and you will be fine!

For the full marathon runners the course is a half marathon that the full marathon racers will do twice. After you return back to the start/finish line you will simply run across the finish line and take the chute to the left to return you back onto the course to repeat what you just did. Half marathoners you will of course be done when you cross the finish line. There is a 7 hour cutoff for the full marathon.

For the half marathon course there will be mile markers in the form of number sticker on the path if the concrete is dry enough for them to stick!

For the 5K, your course is on the same route as the half and full runners and it is a simple out and back. Please pay attention to the signs because at some point on the course the marathon and half course goes different than you. This area will be marked with banners and course marshals will be there to assist you. Your turn around is at the first water stop just past the railroad tracks with a cone in the middle of the path to go around.

You are running on a public park path and it is open to other pedestrians and cyclists. We have to share the path so be mindful when you are out there. As you are returning to the Riverwalk it can be a high pedestrian area and so we just have to navigate the best we can!

Water stops: There will be aid stations located approximately every 2-2.5 miles on the course with water, Gatorade and some light snacks for the full and half and a water stop for the 5K.
Porta potties will be located at each of the aid stations.

Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 overall males and females in each distance as well as the top 3 in each of the standard 5 year age groups.
We will do an awards ceremony for the 5K. For the full and half we will do awards about every 20 minutes so no one has to wait around for very long to get their awards after they finish.

Costume contest: For those interested in participating in the costume contest get your picture taken in front of the big inflatable dragon by our costume photographer and make sure your race number is showing in the picture. We will announce the winner and give you your awesome trophies after the races.

Covid safety rules: We are still under a mask mandate and for your safety we ask that you wear a mask or buff before you start the race. If you wanna drop it at the start, we will pick them up and dispose of them for you.
You do NOT have to run with a mask on! Please try to maintain the proper social distancing before and after the event.

Littering: Please do not drop trash on the course! Carry your trash to the aid stations and throw it in the trash bins please.
Most importantly... Have FUN and thank your volunteers who are out there giving freely of their time.

All courses are USATF certified, flat and fast!
